Sensational Somerset...

You all know how we LOVE those Somerset Magazines!

Life Images, Somerset Studio and Somerset Life! They are just in and already selling...

Today we also got in the newest Home Companion. This magazine never stays around the store long. We think it's the new "Tell All" of Paper Crafting. That Mary Engelbreit offers just about everything in this magazine.

New & Restocked Kimberly Poloson paper line. We have all the Flocked papers back in and all the embellishments- rub-ons, ribbons, metal pieces, chipboard shapes and letters! We also have the double sided cardstock papers in...finally!

Other new products that aren't pictured is the Fiskars Border Punches- "give it a swirl", "leave it to weaver", and "coming up roses". We have more Fiskars paper trimmers as well.
Next week we are expecting...
no not babies, but MORE Grungeboard and hopefully some of Tim's other Idea-ology lovlies. YEAH!

We've had visitors...

Meet Scarlett, oh and Tanya Scarlett's person! Miss Scarlett is the most well behaved Boston ever. She lets her human come to Mystic Paper occasionally. Tanya had a 30 day boycott against buying any paper supplies but we bribed Scarlett and she brought her in. We know who runs that household. How could you resist that face!

Yesterday our friend Becky met our blogging friend Tina at Mystic Paper. They've been blogging friends but have never met in person. Tina is here from Texas visiting and working and took some time off to come by the store and meet Becky and Mike. Mike and Tina have traded comments on each others blog too. Tina is a true Texas gal. Love the drawl, her stories were too funny, and she has great taste in sandals! They were adorable. We all spent time sharing stories, ideas, and what ever else came up in conversation. About three hours later it was time for pictures and time to get back to work! If you ever get to meet Tina ask her about snakes and where she parked her motorcycle! Then you can talk about her art, it's amazing!

In the middle of all that Heather Bailey came by to check out her new paper line Fresh Cut! We just got it in and it has been flying out the door. Heather never got to see it in person so, of course, she had to take some home with her. We were already out of a couple of her papers but she got a good selection. She brought her adorable daughter Charlotte with her. She is pictured on the packaging of Heather's Decorative Clear Stamps. She'll be signing autographs soon! Now, did I remember to grab the camera? Of course not. My excuse, I was alone in the store except for about a dozen customers and it totally slipped my mind. Next time, O.K. Heather!
We love it when we have visitors!

Saturday's Make-n-Take~

Mike had a full house several times over for Saturday's Grungeboard Make-n-Take. So many of you attended we had to give out numbers! Mike has turned into quite the "Grungeboard Distress Master". Everyone got to pick a flash card with a word that meant something to them, and the distressing began. Mike has taught himself all sorts of ways to use and distress grungeboard and he doesn't mind sharing!

Here's a sample of the many, many cards that everyone got to choose from.
The final round of customers that were just putting the final touches on their creation.

This is a great example of what can be done to distress a flash card and grungeboard. Oh, I guess Judge Judy was here! You never know who's going to show up!

Here's the lovely Gretchen who is getting ready for her summer trip to England. Hence her choice of words, Going and Lost! Have a great trip Gretchen.

This Make-n-Take was such a huge success that we have decided to do them at least a couple of times each month. You will find them posted here on the blog. You'll get to learn some great techniques and find out all you can do with some of the new products that are coming out! Is there is a special product that you'd like to learn about or technique you'd like to try? Let us know and we'll get right on it!

New additions to the Revolving Photo Carousel!

Have you started displaying your photos in the Revolving Photo Carousel from 7 Gypsies? They've just come out with some incredible additions to make your Carousel even better! As hard as we tried we could not get photos that would do this product justice. Lighting, camera, photographer (just kidding, we both tried getting good pictures) who knows. These are a "have to see in person" kind of items. If you already own the Carousel or if you are thinking about getting one you have to come in and see the new product! There are transparencies, dividers, pockets, etc. 7 Gypsies has also come out with several new items for the ATC Carousel too. Our favorite is the Metal Clips!

More new product that we have been impatiently waiting for...

The Tim Holtz Idea-ology Word Keys! Love 'em. Perfect for pages, projects, jewelry, the possiblities are endless.

And finally, the Tim Holtz Idea-ology Design Ruler. Better hurry before they're gone!

Back by popular demand!

Last Friday night we had a great make-n-take created by Mike Putman. We didn't have much time to get the word out so we're doing it again. This Saturday, June 21st 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Mike will be doing the same make-n-take for you! Conquer any fears that you may have about using Grungeboard. Mike will teach you several different ways for you to alter your grungeboard. Come join the fun!

BUSY, BUSY, BUSY...

Let's start with the fun shoppers!

Kelsey, Kim H., Majia, Colleen (a blog address coming soon) & Sherry! Off for a fun day of Downtown Mesa.

Our next group was Shannon, Ardeth, and Julie! Do we need to start an enablers anonymous group?

(My fault Ardeth, I couldn't read Kim's writing! -jw)

Next we have Janet & Lori, all the way from Wisconsin! They were staying at the Hilton a few miles away and they were going to walk to their next destination in this heat! We just can't have that, so they got a little ride from Jennifer in Kim's giant truck with great air conditioning.

The first class of the day is Caroline's Travel Journal & Train Case. That was such a great project.

Next was Suzette's- If The Shoe Fits class. Ya gotta love the messy technique filled classes like this one.

Ice Cream Social...

Join us tonight for "A Night Out in Downtown Mesa". This evening will be an Ice Cream Social, in addition to the Ice Cream Social, a local club is bringing cruising back to Main Street. Let's show up with "Welcome Cruisers" signs and show our support! These aren't the cruisers of 30 years ago (well, they are- but now they have better cars!). If you've been to any of the cruises held on Main Street you know, it was a great time! (Jennifer used to cruise Main Street back in the day)

And the wonderful Mike Putman will be at Mystic Paper doing a free Make -n- Take using Grungeboard. See you tonight. The fun starts at 7:00 P.M.!
