Are You Ready For Halloween?

Do you have all of your spooky decorations out?
Maybe you need just one more...

Join Mike and Lesley this Saturday, October 3rd, 10:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. and make one of these "Halloween
Silhouettes" to complete your Halloween decorating!

They will be bringing lots of images for you to choose from. Everything will be "Halloween" and "Spooky".First you'll layer your images and then you will learn techniques such as beeswax fusing and layering, various mediums for beeswax, wax imprinting and stamping, coloring beeswax, and highlighting your piece with mica powders.

You will also learn Beeswax safety and basics. They supply everything you need to complete your project. Call the store to sign up before it's too late! (insert creepy cackle here).

We thought it was so cute that all three of them did pages about their sweet little girls.
All three of them also had incredible altered projects, but it was much more difficult to take photos of them.
We can't wait to get them started on new projects for the upcoming year. Congratulations ladies!

P.S. If you dropped off Design Team submissions you can pick those up at anytime.

Cupcakes & Roses...

Thanks to all of you for coming to celebrate with us! We hope all of you had as much fun as we did.

A special thank you to Sugar Buzz Cakes for all of the cupcakes they made for us. They were so yummy!

And beautiful roses from Sherry and Colleen. Thanks ladies we love them!

The vendors getting all set up and ready for the crowds.

Great classes~ thanks to all of the teachers and students. Sandy Navarro taught her Vintage Shore class. It was quite the hit. We had tons of requests for kits so, if you would like one you can contact Sandy directly.

Jenny Hernandez taught her Spooky Kitty paper clay class. Jennifer even took this class! Jenny is a great teacher and is coming back in December to teach again. Go to her blog and complete the survey she is doing. That will help her decide what to teach. Go vote for your favorite!

The beginnings of Jennifer's Spooky Kitty. Go to her blog to see the finished product. He's so cute!

There's some real concentration going on here!

Here's crazy Lilia Meredith hamming it up for the camera. She taught her "Little Fabric House" class. Everyone showed up with sewing machines in hand and got busy creating their fabric books.

Lilia was making sure Sue got it just right.

Vicki Chrisman came all the way from Nebraska to teach here! Here she is helping one of her students put the final touches on her Halloween project.

And, of course Mike and Lesley~Jack and Cat Curio taught their shadow box class "Dark Side of Youth".

We were so busy in setting up for all the classes and vendors that we kind of forgot about our raffle that we promised all of you. If you reply to this blog post by Saturday evening 9-19-09 we will enter you into the raffle to win some wonderful prizes. We won't be able to mail any prizes out, it's a pick up your prize kind of raffle. Good luck to all of you.

Labor Day is Monday, September 7th...

We will be CLOSED. Visit us on Tuesday the 8th!

Generally, the main way to celebrate Labor Day is by taking the day off work and school, and enjoying the company of your family, friends, and neighbors.

Labor Day would not be possible without the help of the workers who originally fought to get the holiday recognized, so when I celebrate it with my family I try to remember those who worked long hours and in bad conditions. Without those workers, we wouldn't have the industrialized civilization that we do today.
