It's a story of misconception...

Kim and I went to get some nests at the M store yesterday to finish a little bird theme we have going on in the back of the store. We found some Creative Imagination items that we carry here. We never really know what to think when the big "box stores" carry the same product as we (the little independent stores) do. When I looked at the price of these items my jaw dropped open. WHAT! How can they charge so much for this? So we purchased the same 3 items at the M store and also here at Mystic Paper. Guess what store had the better price? MYSTIC PAPER by $7.26! I can't tell you how many times a day we hear customers talking about what they just bought at the M store, because it was such a great deal, but I think it's all a facade. I decided to expose the facts- we have not only the product, but the receipts and the savings pointed out and it's all sitting on our front counter. I can say that I love a good deal, but over seven dollars difference! Seriously? Please come and check it out, that's all I'm saying.

This is Tieger. Is he the cutest or what? Stephanie, a new customer brought in her shopping companion and he sat in the husband holding area for quite awhile. We thought he was very well behaved and more importantly...ADORABLE!

A VERY BUSY WEEK...

Here are some photos from the CK Mesa Convention- it's Jennifer's Pieces of Our Past class that we sponsored. It was great! Many students told me that they loved the techniques and all the messy paint. Unusual for a Jennifer Wagner class right ladies? Ha ha! A couple of people from today's class just came in and told me that Pieces of Our Past was their favorite class out of all the classes they took this weekend. Way to go Jennifer!

A big thanks to Jan, Linda and Susan for helping out too.

Friday Night Fun...

A big thanks to Tena Sprenger and Carol Wingert who joined us Friday evening for the first signing party of their new book Lifelines. This is just an incredible book packed full of great ideas and techniques. Everyone had a great time meeting both of these lovely ladies. They signed all of our copies in the store, so if you missed out you can still pick one up!

Friday evening was also "A Night Out In Downtown Mesa" which is the second Friday of each month. We were joined by Mystic Paper's newest addition to our teaching staff, Mike Putman. He was out front selling his art work and promoting his upcoming classes. He also joined in on our first "Life ATC Swap". His ATC's were of course way over the top! Here he is with Sharon Derr swapping cards.

Stay tuned for tons of new product coming in this next week, right before convention!

A very fun LUCKY DUCK DAY...

First we had a great class- Miniature Memory Quilt. I am so jealous I want to go make one right now!
Everyone's turned out wonderfully and we asked Sue to teach this class again in May, so check the calendar. I think both Kim & I want to take the next class, so you might have to fight us for a seat.

MESS = FUN

Aren't these just beautiful? And did you notice our little French Hangers? We just got these in the other day and have already sold over half of them. 17 to one person alone, I think we need to reorder.

This is Hank, our celebrity dog of the day. Hank belongs to Josie Cirincione, author of one of my personal favorite books- Collage Lost & Found. Josie will be coming out to our store in August to do a book signing...we will keep you all posted.
Did I mention that is was LUCKY DUCK DAY? Here is Shelly excited about her 25% off duck. How lucky is she? I'm off to order more French Hangers. -jw
