This past weekend Terri O was a featured guest at the International Craft & Hobby Show held in Tokyo, Japan. She came into the store to borrow some of our smaller projects to take with her to help educate all those Japanese who are into paper arts and scrapbooking. She thought that bringing along some of our projects would help show them how you can step outside the box. We can't wait for her to tell us how our projects went over in Tokyo.

Well, yes and worth the wait.
We have some new brads from American Craft. Some very cool colorful rub-ons, felt flowers, and tons of pretty ribbons.
If you bought any of the adorable Miss Elle collection (it's the cherries), we now have the swatch book of rub-ons that coordinate with it. So pretty!
We also have some cute metal embellishments-seashells and ladybugs.
This gorgeous lime green frilly paper belongs to the Honeydew collection-so yummy! The transparency is gorgeous as well, you can cut this baby up, or use it whole. The transparencies go with so many different things. This one is to the Anthology line by Creative Imaginations.
If you are in need of adding a bit of color...then these pens are the perfect addition for you to add to your cards, ATCs, or your scrapbook pages. They are archival and they also have two sides, a fine and medium point. The best thing about these pens is the color selection-so many pretty colors!

Here's some birds for you Judy...aren't they the funniest? The grown-ups like them just as much as the kids, and I think that the grown-ups that are riding the birds just never grew up. They're just a couple of big kids!
We had our second live swap and had a great turn-out. Here are the cards that got traded. They were all amazing. With a theme like "Winged Things" how could they not be amazing? We had the Statue of Liberty with wings, a purple cow with wings, a seahorse with wings, bugs, birds, babies, women, and even motorcycles. So much fun to see what everyone comes up with. The next live swap is June 8th and the theme is Fairy Tales and Fables. We learned from the last swap that we enjoy the laid back atmosphere so we will continue with the walk around swap but at the next swap we will begin promptly at 7:15 P.M. We had at least 15 participants this time so if you want all of the cards we'll have to start making more!
Here's a shot of some of the fun creations the vendors outside brought with them. I wasn't very good at picture taking (Sorry Mike) but here is a shot of Shirley's booth. Her business is called Artsy Fartsy and she brings amazing altered items that she has created. Mike and Leslie brought their crafty ware from Jack & Cat Curio. It was loved by all. We should have more news next week on what classes Mike will be teaching here. That's right, he's the mystery man that will be teaching here.

Flowers from Mystic Paper that is...No watering, no wilting, and they will make you smile! New Mini Me Flowers from Prima are here!
And these beautiful Mulberry flowers...if you love them you better come and get 'em. They have been discontinued so what we have is all there is. If you're thinking about taking Sue Altmans "Miniature Memory Quilt" class on Saturday, May 26th these are the flowers that she used in the first class and they look gorgeous on the little quilts. We sold out after her first class so don't wait or these pretties will be gone!
Our personal favorite. Who couldn't love the swirls with the little sayings?

Tomorrow that is. And that means big savings at Mystic Paper. Everything that is currently on clearance will have an additional 15% discount. That makes most everything on sale below cost. And, don't forget, we have some 7 Gypsies and Basic Grey in the sale mix. This will probably be your last chance to buy and Motifica or Sublime! Oh so sad. We also have the 7 Gypsies Oval Scroll stamp which will be $1.00 OFF on National Scrapbook Day. So join us for NSBD and save, save, save!
Does the price of gas make you cranky? Does the price of adhesive make you even crankier? We can fix your adhesive problem, not the gas problem. Half's not bad, right? We just got a huge shipment of new double sided tape dispensers that will put a smile on your face. They are from Stix2 and, in comparison to other adhesive dispensers that we have had...well, let's just say huge savings. Come on in and see for yourself.

Or is it?
Here are both new and restocked non-paper items we have in.
I'm calling this a Memory Gate, it's about 28 inched tall, and holds tons of photos, greeting cards, notes and postcards. We only have a few, so first come...
These jars are perfect for buttons, ribbon, embellishments, or maybe even pickles.
We have more of the beautiful Rustic Mannequins in- these have been discontinued by the manufacturer, so once they're gone, they will be gone.
We also have more of the postcard and photo frames back in, we didn't know how popular these would be...and now, they are back.
I think the way Tena Sprenger had tied ribbon to hers was just adorable, take a peek at her blog if you want to check them out.
Speaking of ADORABLE! This is Honey, She belongs to our new customer Tawny. Isn't she the cutest daschund ever?
After much thought, we have decided to announce to the world that we are looking for a design team. The Design Team will consist of 6 people, who will be chosen by public vote held here in the store during our Customer Appreciation Day all day on June 2nd. Those interested in being on the MPDT will have until Tuesday, May 29th to submit their work. So come on all of you stamp artists, altered artists, collage artists, scrapbook artists, and book artists, we need you to create a uniquely blended Design Team that will showcase our products.
Some of the details...
Mystic Paper Design Team hopefuls will need to submit one 12 x 12 layout and 1 project of their choice! Each person on the Mystic Paper Design Team will serve a one year term. During this term MPDT will be required to design one project for Mystic Paper per month, using our product, supplied by us, for us to show off in our store. The MPDT will receive a 15% discount on all purchases. All Mystic Paper employees, teachers, and family members will not be considered for the MPDT.
Come on and get busy!
