CALLING ALL COUNTERS - Yeah you....

We're almost at the end of 2007 and looking forward to 2008! The one thing we aren't really looking forward to is the dreaded "end of year inventory". How many tiny things can one store possibly have? Let's just say zillions upon zillions. So, can you tell where we are going with this? We need counters! About six to be exact. The counting will commence on Monday, December 31st at 9:00 A.M. We'll have a continental breakfast for you and, if you feel like it, come in your P.J.'s. Nothing to revealing please! (There may be some bending over and climbing around going on.) Hmmmm, you're thinking, "what's in this for me?".

1. You get to hang out with us all day. Right there is payment enough right...o.k., not so much.
2. You'll get to feast your eyes on tons of product that you never knew existed...heh!

Still not buyin' it?

3. We will pay you in product...it's getting better right?
4. We're feeding you a healthy breakfast and we hear that exercising your brain in ways that you don't usually do keeps your mind young!
5. We'll be done in time for all of you party animals to ring in the New Year with someone you really want to be with!

So, if you're interested, and we mean definitely interested, call us by Friday, December 28th and let us know. That will still give us time to round up some random people that we never really wanted to talk to, but we will in a pinch!

Come on, you know you want to do this!!! We may even throw in some gifts!!

Holidays On Main Street

While it won't be as big as Merry Main we are still bringing Santa Downtown in style. He will be arriving on this antique fire truck. He will be at the corner of MacDonald and Main for the children to stop by for a visit. Mystic Paper is having their live ATC Swap promptly at 7:15 P.M. Other merchants are joining the festivities with Hot Chocolate Bars, wine tasting, holiday treats, a fashion show, discounts and lots of other fun. There will be music, vendors, and artists along Main Street from the West side of Robson to Center Street. Hope you can join us for some Holiday Festivities!

O.K. I forgot a few more things...seriously!

This two for one class is being taught by Suzette this Friday evening. What could be better than a two for one? You will make this awesome clock which would make a great gift (personally I would keep it) and...
this frame. Again, a great gift or keep it!

And this class is going on during "A Night Out In Downtown Mesa". If you haven't been to one and are looking for some Christmas cheer you should check it out! Santa is arriving on Main Street on an antique fire engine. He will then take his seat at the corner of Main and MacDonald to visit with the children. He will be assisted by Mrs. Potts Tea Party Girls. Pictures will be taken by Mesa Photo Studio. Vendors, artists, and musicians will be up and down Main Street. You might just find the perfect gift for that hard to shop for person. And, shhh this is a secret, I have gotten phone calls from several of the car clubs that participated in Memories On Main Street last month and they had so much fun cruising Main that they're coming back! Hope to see you Friday!

Just a few things that we forgot...

If you have been meaning to sign up for this class you better be calling fast. Caroline is teaching this wonderful Twelve Days of Christmas book for the last time this Saturday. This is the cutest book with Santa's Magic Pocket Watch on the cover.

And I forgot to mention that Josie has a few spots open in her Mini Charming Charms class. Last Saturday's class filled up and so many of you wanted to learn to solder before Christmas that we added this mini class. You will make three charms and have a glass cutting demo. Her class is on Monday, December 17th 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.

If you're looking for a simple Christmas Gift or Hostess Gift we might have just the thing for you. These adorable Winged Dresses are only $9.99! They come with the little French Hanger and are just the right "little" gift.

If you are giving Gift Cards for Christmas and want to dress them up here's the answer for you. Put them inside these handmade gift card holders. It adds a little elegance to the plastic card inside! Those are only $9.99 also. And we ship!!

The Beeswax Finale...

Here's Sharon a happy beeswax student. Loved her collage. She put a picture of her grandmother on it as her focal point!

Mike sat down with the students that stayed after class and gave a little impromptu technique session.

All of the students were captivated by Mikes insight and knowledge. See what happens when you take a class!

This is about as serious as you will ever see Mike! His class was awsome and everyone left with new found beeswax collage techniques and Mike's head was swirling with ideas for his next class! Stay tuned...

Beeswax continued...

Stamping in beeswax...

Everyone's collage was different!

Love this one!

Mess = FUN!!!

This class is going on right now! As in tonight!

It's really raining outside and we are all cozy here in the classroom with beeswax ameltin'!

Mike's got all of the ladies collaging and waxing their little hearts out!

Here's the beginning of one collage. Layout is so important!

Then applying your first layer of beeswax.

Come on wax...melt!

We'll be taking more pictures as the class goes on! Hmmmmm can you smell the beeswax?
Saturday's Soldering...

Everyone crowded around Josies table for her soldering demonstrations before they headed back to their seat to try it out for themselves.

The got right down to business and started creating their charms!

Our classroom was full on Saturday, people and power strips everywhere but we are happy to report that there was plenty of room and there were plenty of plugs for everyones soldering irons. The new space is working out perfectly!

Here's a few of the finished charms.

And here's a sneak peak at Josies next class. It is called Etched Copper and that's exactly what you will be doing. In addition to learning that technique you will be binding the book. Fun! This class is on Saturday, January 12th!

Simply irresistible, not in the Robert Palmer song "She used to look good to me, but now I find her Simply irresistible" (80's song reference), but more along the lines of how the French would say, tout bonnement irrésistible. (I really don't know if that's what the French would say or not, I'm just guessing)

Saturday's Fun!

It was great to see all of your familiar faces and to spend time with you and all the Artisans who were so gracious with their time to bring all of their beautiful hand crafted items to share!
We were so busy that we forgot to take pictures.
Here's Jennifer picking the winners of our drawings! She's having way too much fun!

Everyone has been called, so if you got a message from us get on down here and pick up your prize! Don't keep reading, GO! Get in the car!

We have lots of upcoming classes here at Mystic Paper. Remember handmade gifts are the best Christmas presents! That's why the elves are so busy all year long.

This layered book does not have to be an engagement book. Suzette will personalize the sticker for your cover to say whatever you want. Many people who took the class the first time chose "I Want The Fairytale" from the movie Pretty Woman. It is chock full of movie quotes and would make a great gift for someone you love. It is taught by Suzette Ricks and is on Friday, December 7th 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M

How many of you give gift cards as presents but would like to have it be just a little bit more special? Here's the perfect way to present it. These gift card holders give it that added personal touch. This workshop is being taught by Sherri Zip, who designed this for us, and is on Saturday December 8th 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.
We all know how people are devoted to their Starbucks. How cute would it be to give them a gift card in this Coffee Shop Gift card holder. Jennifer designed this using the sleeve that comes with the coffee, a whole sheet of coffee ephemera and even used some Coffee Shop Glimmer Mist on the front. She will be teaching this workshop on Saturday, December 8th 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

Another great gift idea is this Paris Collage which is done in beeswax. Personally, if I get to take this class I'm keeping mine! Mike Putman is teaching this technique driven class and has just a couple of spots left. It is on Monday December 10th, 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.

Yet another great gift or something to keep for yourself is this Santa Claus Wish Frame taught by Heather Bartlett. It is on Tuesday, December 11th 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

Want to learn a technique that will mystic-fy even the most talented paper artists?
Learn many ways to distress and use metal tape. This class is taught by Josie Cirincione and is on Wednesday December 12th 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.

The Twelve Days of Christmas Altered Book was taught for the first time today and everyone had a blast drilling holes, gluing pages together, cutting holes, and basically altering this book to turn it into the hit class of the season. Who can resist Santa's Magic Pocket Watch? Caroline will teach it again on Saturday December 15th 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. She has a couple of spots left that will surely fill up quick!

Josies "Charming Charms" class on December 8th filled up so quickly that we had to find another day for those of you that want to learn to solder before Christmas. The only thing we could squeeze in was a "Mini Charming Charms" class. You will make three charms and have a glass cutting demo. She is teaching her mini class on Monday, December 17th 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. If you are "thinking" about taking this you best be calling right away. The class is limited to 10 since it is on a week night.

That's our line up for classes before Christmas. We know that everyone is busy getting ready for the Holidays but take some time for yourself and come take a class with us!
